Timofey and Alessa were the first mixed-ability duet to compete at the National Championships in the history of Canada Artistic Swimming. They were trailblazers for this event at the national level and paved the way for accessibility standards at competitions hosted by Canada Artistic Swimming. They demonstrated the necessity of inclusion at National meets and have made a great impact in the Artistic Swimming community locally, provincially, and nationally. As their coach, I want to nominate them so their hard work and recognize how truly incredible their participation was during their duet swim at the National Championships. Timofey also won a gold medal at that competition for his AWD solo.
